When Life Makes Plans

This is the result of a "what if..." that wormed its way into my brain and refused to leave. It mainly focuses on the newer movie universe, though I have brought in other Batman elements from other sources as needed.

When Life Makes Plans turned itself into some twisted little romance novella...something I had not intended to do when I started (but should have realized that's what my brain wanted when it came up with the idea). That means, of course, that there is not the amount of action most people would probably want from a Batman story. Action is all well and good, and it's not entirely absent - just that personal relationships and their ups and downs are somewhat more interesting to write about than someone's fist connecting with some other person's jaw. May also stem from the fact that I'm horrible with writing such...so it's probably better off this way anyway.

Joining Bruce and Alfred is Lenorah Sorris. She's independently wealthy, so Mr. Wayne does not need to worry she only loves his bank account. Basically for Lenorah, I wanted a strong woman without the sharp edges people would cut themselves on. She does not need Bruce in her life, she chooses to want him in her life (I'm not sure that the two of us gave him much of a choice in the matter really...though he's not complaining about it). Like the rest of us, she's not perfect - she has her issues just like everyone else. And the whole talking to herself thing - straight habit of mine written in to the story. Nothing wrong with talking to inanimate objects...nope, not at all.

Dick Grayson also joins the ranks, though I've started him out at about twelve years old - so no Robin just yet. Writing a young boy who has just lost his family is a bit of a challenge, so hopefully I've not made too much of a mess of things.

Based on FF.net rating criteria, When Life Makes Plans is set at a T for Teen level. This is for implied adult situations (there's this thing called an imagination...use it...because describing sex scenes down to the smallest detail is idiotic and boring as hell, so I make use of "fade to black" and leave it up to the reader) and language for some profanity here and there (don't worry, I kept it relatively lite...nothing major)

On the rating note - images in the story gallery fall in the same category. There are renders of the characters, mug shots and the like. But there are also "candid" moments when I feel like rendering such - again with the implied intimacy on occasion. If you're adult enough to read the story, you'll be fine with the gallery.
