Rubeus(Ruby) & Safir(Sapphire)While these two weren't brothers, their origin lies in the same mineral. Ruby and sapphire are both gem varieties of corundum. Corundum: Hardness--9 Corundum forms hexagonal crystals. It is often found as an accessory mineral in metamorphosed carbonates, and in some Aluminum-rich igneous rocks. Massive corundum forms emery deposits in carbonite skarns. Emery deposits are hard compact deposits of corundum-magnetite-hematite ore.
