RoS Tutorials - Sharing your textures with the rest of Poserdom

Remember that render I told you to save back on page 2? Now we're ready to use it. Open it up in your image editing software (I use Photoshop, but the process should be pretty much the same for others).

If you don't have your render window in Poser set up to be equal both ways, you will need to make the proper adjustments to your image so that width and height are the same. Once that is set, go in and change your image size to 91 pixels X 91 pixels. This is the size that Poser reads images at...any larger or smaller and you'll just end up with the little shrugging guy.

You can do all sorts of things that you want when it comes to making a custom png thumb. I save my renders out in Photoshop format, and then use the alpha channel as a selection to get just the model with no background. Or you can do the same and copy the render with your texture onto a spiffy background, add text, or whatever else. I just tend to keep mine simple and let the texture speak for itself.

If it is a large item and the size will not show off the texture at it's best, then I simply select a small area with an interesting part of the texture and make my png from there.

Once all the details have been taken care of, save your image out in png format, name it the same as your pz2 file, and make sure both are in your pose folder.

And that's that as far as everything you need to put a matpose together with.

Download my finished demo file and see how I put things together if you like.

You're ready to zip your files up and then upload them to share with everyone else. ^_^

The next page talks about optional things to include in your zip package, and what to do if you want to make your matpose also work with older versions of Poser such as Poser4.
